102 Years Young: A Special Celebration for Jock Davis

In early October, residents, staff, family, and friends gathered to celebrate a very special milestone: the 102nd birthday of Maj. Foster “Jock” Davis. A resident of the Arkansas State Veterans Home, Jock is a veteran of both World War II and the Korean War and has spent a lifetime serving his country and community.

The celebration brought together supporters from across Arkansas to honor Jock and the remarkable life he has lived. Guests enjoyed cake, snacks, great conversation, and plenty of stories throughout the event. Family, friends, staff, and fellow guests shared heartfelt memories and kind words in recognition of Jock’s service and the impact he has made on those around him.

A special highlight of the celebration was the presentation of an ADVA Certificate of Celebration by Secretary Robert "Gator" Ator, honoring Jock’s 102 years and extraordinary legacy of service.

Throughout the day, Jock filled the room with laughter, sharing stories and joking with those in attendance. When asked the secret to reaching 102, he offered a simple answer: eating lots of burgers.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this celebration possible and proud to honor one of our home's most treasured residents. His service, humor, and spirit made for a truly memorable day.
