Nicholas Bertucci

Nicholas Bertucci has a long family tradition of military members in his family. His father served in Vietnam in the Navy, Grandfather served in World War II in the Navy, and Great Grandfather served in World War I in the Army. Nicholas joined the Navy in 2007 with the desire to continue his Family’s tradition and care for others. He signed up to be a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman and operate alongside and care for the United States Marines. Upon completion of his basic training, he was assigned to the 1st Marine Division Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion at Camp Pendleton. From there he deployed with his unit to two different conflicts. He Served in Iraq in 2008 – 2009 operating in the field as a line Corpsman. He was appointed as Senior Line Corpsman of his unit and led several Corpsman under his command. Upon completion of specialized Mountain Warfare Medicine training, he deployed to Afghanistan in 2010 leading his Corpsmen and caring for his Marines through rigorous combat operations.

Nicholas has completed three college degrees, two of which while on active duty and one shortly after separating. He has completed an Associate’s, Bachelors’, and Master’s Degree. His care for his fellow service members never ended. He would ensure they were in good health and well being for years to come long after the combat operations have ended.

Nicholas’s desire to care for service members continues as he has become the newest District Veterans Service Officer for the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs. He represents District 5 and District 7 in efforts to serve the Veterans of his state.
