Governor Beebe Visits Veterans Homes
(Little Rock) Governor Mike Beebe recently toured the Fayetteville Veterans Home and the Arkansas State Veterans Home visiting with residents and administrative personnel. The purpose of which was to give the Governor a clear vision of the function, processes, and overall appearance of the Homes. Arriving early in Fayetteville, the Governor was able to visit all of the facility, which is adjacent to the UAMS Washington County Hospital. He viewed the facility in full operation, seeing daily activities of the workers and residents as well as the condition of the building itself. His tour of the Home in Little Rock was guided by Mr. Fred Rowe who gave comparisons regarding upkeep and maintenance. Mr. David Fletcher, Director of the Arkansas Department of Veterans Affairs stated, “It was a good visit.” It gave the Governor a first-hand account of the quality of our Veterans Homes.
