Former ADVA Director Nick Bacon Receives Purple Heart
(Little Rock) Nick Bacon, ADVA Director from 1993 to 2005, received his Purple Heart at the Arkansas State Capitol on Saturday, February 3rd for injuries he suffered in Vietnam. Bacon was pinned by his son SSG James Bacon at the ceremony which was also attended by Rep. Vic Snyder and several representatives of veteran’s organizations. Bacon, who served in the United States Army 1963 to 1984, is also a recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star.
