Education and Training Partnership (AVETP)
The Arkansas Department of Workforce Services (ADWS), in
partnership with the Arkansas Community Colleges (ACC) (formerly the Arkansas
Association of Two-Year Colleges (AATYC)), ARVets, and the Arkansas
Apprenticeship Coalition (AAC) requested funding to provide veterans with
increased opportunities for assessment, training, supportive services,
employment, and retained employment in Arkansas. Specifically, the Arkansas
Veterans Education and Training Partnership (AVETP) project will provide
resources to a minimum of 450 veteran participants entered into training
programs for targeted renewable and energy efficiency industries, healthcare
professions, and other occupations that are identified as
high demand occupations
The term “veteran” means an individual who served in the active
military, naval, or air service and who was discharged or released under
conditions other than dishonorable [WIA 101(49)].
